Hood was a very good TA. She wants her students to do well and if you approach her with questions, she'll make sure to help you out. She is an experienced teacher, so you can learn a thing or two from her class. She keeps you interested with discussions in our small groups and is open to new ideas and thoughts. If you get IAH 207 and have a different TA, switch to Hood. She's definately worth your time.

I really liked her...The class was a challenge, but like others have said, as long as you participate and read it shouldn't be a problem. She knows so much, and always has interesting facts to tell you, or brings in books from her enormous home collection to go along with what you are learning about.

Awesome class. Definitly a challange; a lot of reading (mostly good books), a lot of class discussion, three 5 page papers, but very rewarding and interesting. Ms. Hood really cares about her students, which is nice for a class at MSU.

She is a really good TA. She really made the class interesting and for once I found a class and I wanted to participate. She is really tough on her essays though, so make sure you spend lots of time on them. Also she doesn't change grades so basically if you screw up like I did, you don't get forgiveness.

She is a great T.A. I got a 3.5 in the class. She tries to engage her students. She is always willing to help you if you have questions and readily supplies answers and suggestions. This class more so an American history class. As long as you have a grasp of the readings, do the papers, and participate, you should do fine.

This class is more comparable to a US history class, but it isn't that bad of a class. There is a lot of reading, but I usually just read right before class and participated so it looked like I was keeping up on everything. On the 2 papers I had a 3.25 and 3.5 and I didn't know what to expect on the grading but I was happy. She will help you out on your paper and this is a smart thing to do because like with any professor is you write what they want to hear it helps your grade. I would take her for your IAH requirement.

If you like American History then you will enjoy the material in this class, but other than that it is rather boring. There is a lot of reading at some times, but if you are a student who keeps up on the readings and shows up to class you will be fine. Hood is a professor that cares about the student and is approachable and willing to help you out. I would recommend her if you have to take IAH 201

very boring material. hood tries to make it alittle bit more interesting. however, we went throught the material so quick i dont feel like i absorbed anything. she grades pretty hard on papers...expect atleast a .5 lower than in your writing class. no tests or quizes, except for the final...which is nice, but not very helpful when it comes to actually studying for the final.

Ms Hood was a wonderful TA for a class that was from Hell. She really clarified the information presented in lecture, seeing as our PROFESSOR couldn't do shit with her information. She was also an extremely fair grader, and was always more than willing to discuss questions you had inside and outside of class.

Ms. Hood is an awesome TA. She is a very fair grader and is very helpful when you go to her for help. Although she may seem sort of high strung at first she really knows her material and teaches it in a manner that is very understandable and makes it easy for you to get involved. Shes just overall a very nice lady and I really wish I had her for a class that she tought and not just as a TA to Prof. Lothspeich.

Jennifer Hood is a good TA as far as instructors for this terrible class go. Be very careful on your papers though. I took an honors ATL class and had a 4.0 on every paper in that class but scored lower on my papers in this class because she is a very tough grader when it comes to papers. Go and talk to her about them before you turn them in and you'll be glad you did, I'm sorry I didn't. Still, she wants students to do well and has very broad knowledge of the subject area.

I would rate her a 2.0 because that is the grade that she seems to give on all papers. This class is terrible, shes not even a professor..shes a TA and she grades like shes an atl professor. After getting 4.0's in atl from a professor with a phd in English, I get 2.0's from a TA in a history class. The most boring pointless class ever!
